My understanding is that the scam artists and the conscionsless legitimate practioners and the trustworthy patent lawyers probably all charge about the same. A rough figure is about a total of $8000 for a full procecution. I met one poor soul that paid a scam artist $8000 for a design patent. They are inexpensive and fast to obtain and give only picture book protection. Almosts any variation is not an infringement. M.
